About Me

I am currently a Junior attending Michigan State University's James Madison College.  I focus my studies on International Relations and Spanish.  I believe the only way to be successful in a world that continuously becomes more interconnected is through language.  Possessing the power to communicate with a growing population creates opportunity that did not exist prior to that communication.

Throughout my years at MSU I have learned that success is greatly determined by the amount of hard work one puts into his/her future.  In order to ensure my future I have worked hard to get a semester ahead in my studies.  The ability to graduate early will give me an opportunity to really explore the many options that I have before me.  Whether I choose to further my education or to start a career, I will have more time to make critical life decisions that many students feel rushed to make after graduation.  

During my time at MSU I took advantage of one of MSU's study abroad programs. I went to Querterato, Mexico for the summer of 2007 to learn Spanish and to expand my knoweldge of a neighboring country.  My time in Mexico really changed my perspecive of the United States and made me want to explore my country more in depth.  So, as many young adults set their sights on Europe, I am going to take advantange of my extra time by traveling around the United States.  I feel taking time to see the US will allow me the opportunity to see what this country needs from its citizens and to grow by experiencing the many different cultures inside of the US.

In addition to my school work, I am also working for the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth (DELEG) as a Student Assistant to the Executive Office.  My work for DELEG is not only fullfilling but, has taught me more about Michigan and more about the nature and the needs of people.  Currently DELEG is working toward bettering the life of Michiganders by creating and training people for new innovative careers in Michigan.  Working for DELEG and working with these programs I have learned about the dedication and the determination it takes to create life changing programs.
